A respected Dallas-based Intellectual Property law firm is seeking a motivated Legal Assistant to join its team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with legal administrative experience who is looking to build a long-term career in the specialized field of Intellectual Property law.

Responsibilities
Legal & Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals within the Intellectual Property practice.
- Prepare, proofread, revise, and format legal correspondence and other legal documents.
- Open new client matters and maintain organized electronic and physical files.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, conference calls, and appointments.
- Prepare engagement letters, reports, and client communications.
- Assist with document production, scanning, filing, and records management.
- Support attorney time entry, billing, and other administrative functions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information.
Client & Team Support
- Communicate professionally with clients, inventors, vendors, and internal team members.
- Provide exceptional customer service and timely follow-up on requests.
- Assist with special projects and provide backup support to other legal assistants as needed.
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented office environment.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of legal assistant, legal administrative assistant, or legal secretary experience preferred.
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting Intellectual Property or Patent Prosecution attorneys is a plus, but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational, proofreading, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to outstanding client service.
